It is hand-harvested on a daily basis using a special tool which never touches the bottom of the salt marsh, a process that ensures the salt maintains its original brilliant white colour.   • Campos Santos Piri-Piri paste and Ground Piri-Piri are made from highly aromatic and moderately spicy Piri-Piri, in order to preserve the food flavour. Piri-Piri from countries such as Brazil, Thailand, Mexico, Angola and Mozambique are used in the productions. The purpose of this blend is to combine spiciness and flavour. The whole dried Piri-Piri fruits used come from Angola and present a strong red colour and moderate spiciness so that the food flavour does not lose its identity.
  • Hand-harvested sea salt is collected in traditional salt pans using artisanal methods. It is great for preparing pickles and dehydrating food. This salt is a natural product, which does not undergo any treatment and is thus naturally pure. Its composition contains sodium chloride, magnesium, calcium, potassium, iron, zinc and manganese, among other materials.
  • Figs, almonds and carobs are typical of the culture and gastronomy of the Algarve region. In bygone times, in the inland zones of the region, the cultivation of nuts and dry fruits was the main economic activity of families. The fruits and nuts were gathered manually using long sticks or rods to knock them from the trees, after which they where collected on the ground. The rooftops of Algarve houses were replaced by terraces and were used to dry fruit under the sun. As well as the tastes, Campos Santos has created a typical Algarve house for their biscuits.
